Upon approval of the Supervisors, other species may be utilized.

Section 5.15 Street Signs

A. The developer shall erect at every street intersection a street sign or street signs meeting Township approval, having thereon the names of the intersecting streets- At intersections where streets cross, there shall be at least two (2) such street signs and at the intersections where, one (1) street ends or joins with another street, there shall be at least one (1) such street sign,

B. Street signs are to be erected on or before occupation of the first dwelling on the street. Temporary street signs may be erected on the approval of the Township, but shall be made permanent when the first dwelling unit is occupied on the street.

C. The installation of all traffic control signs, equipment or devices, required within the development and along the frontage shall be shown on the plan, approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where required, and otherwise by the Township and all installation and material costs shall be borne by the developer.

D. Street name signs shall be made of .090 gauge extruded aluminum blanks and they shall have vandal proof hardware. The signs shall be six inches (6") in height and the background shall be white reflective material, with four (4") inch high black letters. They shall be. erected on twelve foot (12') U-channel breakaway posts as per the specifications of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

E. Stop signs (30" x 30") shall be erected 5' above the roadway pavement edge and shall meet the specifications of PennDOT.

F. Posts for street name signs shall be 10 L.F. min., 4" x 4" penetrated, placed a minimum of 3' in the ground. Posts for stop signs shall be steel "U" channel and shall meet the specifications of Painted.

G. Location of all street name signs and stop signs must comply with the minimum standards set forth in figure "GI" and "G2". Neither street signs or stop signs shall obscure any potential traffic hazard. At any location where the typical placement of a sign interferes with the safe sight distance, an alternative location satisfactory to the Township must be found.
