ARTICLE IV RM, Medium Density Residential District
§ 294-17. Purpose.

The RM, or Medium Density Residential District, occurs in those areas of the township designated in the Master Plan for the Non- Pinelands Area as medium-density residential areas, or in those locations where residences would be the primary use at an overall, or gross, density of two (2) units per acre.

§ 294-18. Permitted uses.

A. Within the RM District, land may be used and buildings or structures may be used, altered or erected for the following uses:

(1) Single-family detached dwelling units.

(2) Duplexes.

(3) Townhouse dwelling units.

(4) Planned retirement community in accordance with Article XIV of this chapter.

(5) Agriculture.

(6) Recreation facilities, low-intensive or intensive.

(7) Public facilities, including roads, utilities and emergency services such as a rescue squad station and fire stations.

(8) Institutional uses, including churches, etc.

(9) Model homes or sales offices may be allowed temporarily during the period necessary to show and sell new homes within that subdivision.

(10) Accessory uses such as a professional office, studio, or home occupation within or attached to the main dwelling unit and any other uses incidental to any of the permitted uses listed in this Article.

§ 294-19. Area, yard and bulk requirements.

A. Residential dwelling units proposed for development within the RM District shall be subject to the area, yard and bulk requirements summarized on Schedule 1 at the end of this chapter.

B. Nonresidential uses proposed for development within the RM District shall be subject to the Area, Yard and Bulk Requirements for Nonresidential Uses summarized on Schedule 2 at the end of this chapter.

§ 294-20. Design and performance standards.

All development proposed within the RM District shall conform with all applicable standards under Article XV of this chapter.

§ 294-21. Open space.

Open space shall be provided in accordance with § 294-118 of Article XV of this chapter.

§ 294-22. Organization for ownership and maintenance of common open space.

Open space shall be owned and maintained in accordance with § 294-119 of Article XV of this chapter.
